A Statement from Pennsylvania Gymnastics

I know there is concern about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it may affect our athletes, coaches and spectators at State Competitions. We certainly do not want to jeopardize anyone and we expect everyone to take the required precautions including washing their hands often and using/bringing hand sanitizer. In addition if anyone is sick they should not attend – however, Pennsylvania gymnastics plans to move forward with all our state meets this season unless the Region/National office cancels the Regional/National meets or if the State of Pennsylvania or the facility cancel events. Each meet host will be in contact with the health organization in their area and meet the standards that they set.

All clubs need to let their parents know our plan and we will continue to update you on a regular basis on the status of the meets if anything changes.

Everyone has choices.  Coaches and athletes have the choice whether they are comfortable competing at the state meets.

Spectators also have the option of whether they wish to attend or not – and it is advised for anyone over 60 with a medical condition to not attend the event – however that is up to each person.

All facilities are taking extra precautions in sanitizing and disinfecting all surfaces. We will make every effort to keep you informed as we get information.
